8th Pay Commission Calculator 2026 – Calculate Your Expected Salary
The 8th Pay Commission Calculator 2026 helps Central Government employees estimate their possible revised basic pay, monthly salary, allowances, pension and arrears. Enter your current basic salary, Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA percentage and an assumed fitment factor to calculate an illustrative salary under a possible 8th Central Pay Commission structure.
The calculator compares your current 7th CPC salary with a projected salary under the 8th CPC. Since the final pay matrix, fitment factor, allowances and implementation arrangements have not yet been officially finalized, the results are estimates and should not be treated as confirmed salary figures.
How to Use the 8th CPC Salary Calculator

- Enter your basic pay: Input your current 7th Pay Commission basic salary or select a pay level.
- Enter your current DA: Use the applicable Dearness Allowance percentage for your calculation.
- Select your HRA category: Choose the applicable percentage for your city. The calculator uses the selected percentage as an assumption.
- Choose a fitment factor: Select a factor to estimate possible revised basic pay. The available factors are illustrative, not official recommendations.
- Enter the arrears period: Select the number of months for a rough arrears estimate.
- Calculate your salary: Click the calculation button to view the projected salary, monthly difference and other estimates.
You can also use the pension option to view an illustrative pension figure and the NPS/UPS option to see an estimated deduction based on the calculator’s assumptions.
8th Pay Commission Fitment Factor: How Is Salary Calculated?
The fitment factor is a multiplier used in salary-revision calculations. For an illustrative calculation, the projected basic pay is calculated by multiplying the current basic pay by the selected fitment factor.
Formula:
Estimated Revised Basic Pay = Current Basic Pay × Assumed Fitment Factor
For example, if an employee’s current basic pay is ₹30,000 and the assumed fitment factor is 2.00, the estimated revised basic pay would be ₹60,000.
This is a mathematical example, not an official 8th CPC salary prediction. The final fitment factor, pay matrix, rounding rules and applicable salary structure will depend on the Commission’s recommendations and the Government’s decisions.
8th Pay Commission Salary Calculation Example
The following table shows how different assumed fitment factors affect a basic salary of ₹30,000. These figures show only the mathematical result before allowances and deductions.
| Assumed Fitment Factor | Current Basic Pay | Illustrative Revised Basic Pay |
|---|---|---|
| 1.92 | ₹30,000 | ₹57,600 |
| 2.00 | ₹30,000 | ₹60,000 |
| 2.15 | ₹30,000 | ₹64,500 |
| 2.28 | ₹30,000 | ₹68,400 |
| 2.57 | ₹30,000 | ₹77,100 |
Important: These are hypothetical calculations, not announced fitment factors or confirmed revised pay scales. A higher basic-pay estimate does not automatically represent the same percentage increase in take-home salary.
What Is Included in the 8th CPC Salary Estimate?
Basic Pay
Basic pay is the starting point for the calculator’s projection. The tool multiplies the entered basic pay by the assumed fitment factor to estimate a possible revised basic salary.
Dearness Allowance (DA)
DA is an allowance intended to help compensate for inflation. The calculator uses your entered DA percentage for the current salary and a separately entered assumption for the projected salary. The future DA rate is not confirmed by this calculation.
House Rent Allowance (HRA)
HRA depends on the applicable rules and employee circumstances. The calculator estimates HRA using your selected percentage. Its projected calculation assumes the same percentage continues, which may not reflect the final 8th CPC rules.
Transport Allowance
The calculator estimates transport allowance using simplified rates based on the selected city category and pay level. Actual eligibility and payable amounts may depend on the applicable government orders.
Estimated Arrears
The tool estimates arrears by multiplying the difference between projected and current gross monthly salary by the number of months entered. This is a simplified illustration, not an official arrears calculation. Actual arrears would depend on the approved effective date, revised pay rules, allowances, deductions and any applicable adjustments.
Pension Estimate
The optional pension feature calculates 50% of the projected basic pay. This is only a simplified illustration and does not establish an individual’s pension entitlement. Actual pension calculations depend on the applicable pension scheme and official rules.
8th Central Pay Commission Latest Status
The Government of India constituted the 8th Central Pay Commission through a notification dated 3 November 2025. The Commission was given 18 months from its constitution to submit its recommendations.
As of 17 October 2026, employees should distinguish between official announcements and estimates circulated online. The final fitment factor, revised pay matrix, new allowance structure and implementation arrangements should be checked against official notifications rather than assumed from calculator results.
The expected timeline for submitting recommendations is not the same as a confirmed date for implementing revised salaries or paying arrears. The effective date and payment arrangements depend on the relevant Government decisions.
For authoritative updates, visit the official 8th Central Pay Commission website and the Press Information Bureau.
Who Can Use This 8th Pay Commission Calculator?
This calculator may be useful to Central Government employees who want to explore possible salary revisions, including employees in different pay levels, administrative departments, eligible defence services and other covered categories. Retired employees and pensioners may also use the basic-pay projection to understand a hypothetical scenario, but the pension option is not a substitute for an official pension calculation.
State Government employees should be aware that the adoption of Central Pay Commission recommendations by individual states may depend on separate state decisions and orders. This calculator does not determine eligibility or confirm the salary structure of any particular department.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. How much salary will increase under the 8th Pay Commission?
The final salary increase has not been established by this calculator. It depends on the approved fitment factor, revised pay matrix, allowances, deductions and the employee’s existing pay. Use different hypothetical factors to compare possible basic-pay outcomes.
2. What is the official 8th Pay Commission fitment factor?
The fitment factors available in this calculator are illustrative options. They should not be treated as officially approved factors. Check the official 8th CPC website for confirmed recommendations and Government notifications.
3. When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
The Commission was constituted on 3 November 2025 and was given 18 months to submit its recommendations. The submission timeline does not itself confirm an implementation date. Employees should wait for official Government decisions about implementation.
4. Will employees receive arrears from January 2026?
January 2026 is often discussed as a possible reference date, but the calculator cannot confirm arrears eligibility or payment. The actual effective date and any arrears will depend on the applicable Government orders.
5. Can I calculate my new basic pay using the fitment factor?
Yes. Enter your current basic pay and select an assumed fitment factor. The calculator multiplies these values to show an illustrative revised basic pay. The result is not a confirmed pay-matrix amount.
6. Does the calculator include DA and HRA?
Yes. It estimates DA and HRA using the percentages you enter or select. The projected calculation uses your chosen future DA percentage and assumes the selected HRA percentage continues. These are assumptions, not confirmed future allowance rules.
7. Is the arrears amount shown accurate?
The arrears figure is a rough estimate based on the monthly gross salary difference and the number of months entered. It does not account for every possible change in pay, allowances, deductions or arrears rules.
8. Can pensioners use this calculator?
Pensioners can explore hypothetical basic-pay figures, but the pension option simply calculates 50% of the projected basic pay. It does not calculate an individual’s official pension, family pension, pension revision or retirement benefits.
9. Is this calculator applicable to State Government employees?
The calculator can illustrate hypothetical pay changes, but it does not confirm that a state will adopt the Central Pay Commission’s recommendations or use the same fitment factor, allowances or implementation date.
10. Where can I check official 8th CPC updates?
Visit 8cpc.gov.in for Commission information and notices. For Government announcements, also check the Press Information Bureau.
